Director & General Manager

Having worked in the hospitality industry all of my life (well from 10 years old ‘bottling up’ at the families pub in Upton on Seven!). I gained a BA hons degree in Hospitality Management at Thames Valley University, London in 1996 and then went on to gain practical experience with Marriott, Shire Hotels and Intercontinental Hotels.

We bought the hotel in 2005 and have since completed a multi million pound re-development of the hotel bringing it from, no AA star rating to an AA 4 star resort hotel, which has been an amazing journey.

In my spare time (when I’m not working) I enjoy spending time with my 10 year old daughter and enjoying the fantastic countryside the Lake District has to offer-by Mountain Biking, Fell Running and Hiking.
